Hi, I’m Hallie Caldwell, and Wellness Before Work is my running, slightly obsessive index of the small things I do in the hour before my day starts.

Let me get this out of the way first: I am not a wellness coach, I am not a 5am person, and I have absolutely no interest in optimizing my mitochondria before sunrise. What I am is a normal person who noticed that how I spend the first hour of the morning quietly sets the tone for everything after it. A short walk, a real breakfast instead of coffee-on-an-empty-stomach, two minutes of stretching so my back stops complaining. Tiny stuff. It adds up.

So this site is basically me keeping a list. What actually helped, what was a waste of time, and what sounded nice on the internet but fell apart the second I tried it on a Tuesday when I slept badly. I test things slowly, on my own ordinary mornings, and when something doesn’t stick I say so.

Everything here is written by an actual human who is still figuring it out. No perfect routines, no before-and-after miracles, no lecturing. Just honest notes from someone trying to feel a little better before work.
